The Gilbert Group, at the Pandemic Sciences Institute, are seeking to appoint a Senior Programme Manager. The group let the rapid development of a replication-deficient simian adenoviral vectored vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, and they have an excellent record of attracting external grant funding, a robust publication record, and strong collaborations with the Oxford Vaccine Group and other Oxford researchers.

You will be responsible for the oversight of the complete CEPI programme, acting as the primary point of contact with the funder, and supporting other CEPI project managers within the team. You will be responsible for project, budget and resource planning, identifying shortfalls and issues and providing feasible solutions to existing problems and to strategic management of the projects in order to meet project goals. This may include maintaining oversight of some non-CEPI funded projects and budgets within the Gilbert Group as required. You will liaise with local administration (Business Manager, HR, NDM Grant Management, and Finance Team) as appropriate to manage the projects according to University policies and the terms and conditions of the funders.

It is essential that you are educated to undergraduate level with a scientific degree, with demonstrable sufficient experience in managing and coordinating complex scientific projects successfully. You will have knowledge of translational, preclinical or clinical trials management and associated legal requirements, and you will be able to demonstrate leadership of large and complex projects, for example, with multiple stakeholders, budgets exceeding £1m, long time-frames, and regulatory complexity. It is essential that you have strong interpersonal skills, to work efficiently in multidisciplinary teams and with a wide variety of people internationally. A certified Project Manager Qualification (i.e. Prince 2), would be highly desirable.
