Fixed term contract until 31/07/2025

The Chester Medical School (CMS) is an exciting development at the University of Chester, which delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical and biomedical sciences.

An opportunity exists for a suitably experienced medical educator to join the senior team at CMS and take a leadership role in the MBChB programme, planned to start in 2024. This includes direct responsibility for the student admissions and selection processes and the development and implementation of student selected components throughout the programme. The appointee will also be involved in quality monitoring and coordinating interprofessional educational activities with other staff to ensure students get the best out of their programme and make a meaningful contribution to the local community and health/care provision.

You will be expected to undertake research/scholarly activities and represent the School externally as required.

The successful appointee is expected to contribute to the School’s teaching and administration, and actively promote medical education. You will be an experienced medical educator who has relevant previous programme and educational research leadership and experience of teaching and supporting medical students and/or doctors in training and research.

We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants.

You are welcome to contact Professor Judy McKimm, Pro-Dean Medical Education, at j.mckimm@chester.ac.uk for informal enquiries.

Candidates may download further details and an application form from our website at www.chester.ac.uk/jobs. Applications should be made via our online recruitment website quoting reference number NRA552.
