The Centre for Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint a Research Fellow.

The principal aim of the post is to undertake a CRUK funded project to investigate the association between antibiotic use on survival from breast cancer. The study will be conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Oxford and the University of Nottingham. 

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • A primary degree or Master’s degree in mathematics/statistics or a health-related subject.
  • Obtained or be about to obtain a relevant PhD in epidemiology, public health, pharmacy, applied mathematics/statistics or related discipline.
  • Specific, recent research experience and skills relevant to this project e.g. database management, statistical analysis, working with large epidemiological datasets.
  • Experience of using statistical packages such as STATA.
  • Contribution to authorship of articles in international scientific peer reviewed journals, commensurate with stage of career.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
