We are looking to appoint a research assistant to work on NIHR funded work led by Professor Catherine Harmer and Professor Susannah Murphy, exploring the effects of novel therapeutic changes in depression. The post is full time however consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro-rata basis. The post is based in Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for two years)
You will take an active role in recruiting participants (healthy volunteers and depressed patients), scheduling and carrying out participant screening and study assessments, logging and analysing data. The study will require adherence to Good Clinical Practice and liaison with medical and nursing professionals.
You will have a degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Neuroscience, Psychology), along with demonstrable research experience, including the ability to independently manage the day-to-day running of a research project. With a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience, psychopharmacology or clinical psychology you will have experience running psychological tasks and be able to relate professionally to participants. Experience of analysing fMRI data would be desirable, as would experience of working patients with depression.
