About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join the newly funded NIHR DeNPRU (Dementia and Neurodegenerative diseases policy research unit), based in QMUL. DeNPRU is funded to generate the evidence policymakers need to develop and deliver effective and equitable health and social care in England that will make it the best place in the world for those with dementia or a neurodegenerative disease to receive care and support, wherever they live and whatever their background. You will work in a central team of four researchers at QMUL, and with national partners.
About You
You should be committed to conducting research that makes an impact and a team player. You will work with academics in dementia (Professor Cooper, Dr Marshall) and statistics (Dr Jonathan Beswick, Statistics Senior Lecturer) to design and carry out portfolio studies and support rapid-responses to requests for evidence. Your work will focus on use of electronic health records and other large datasets.
You will have postgraduate experience in studies using electronic health records. We will provide you with strong and enthusiastic support to develop your career, and work towards an independent research career.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London, with some time also spent within the Preventative Neurology Unit at Charterhouse Campus. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 3 years, with an expected start date of 1.1.2024. The starting salary will be Grade 4/5, in the range of £38,165 – £49,785 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
