About the Role

We are looking to appoint a research assistant (RA) to support the day-to-day management of a project to develop reporting guidelines for descriptive oral epidemiological surveys, funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC). Key responsibilities will include conducting systematic searches of the literature, obtaining ethics approval, drafting of reports, coordination of the Delphi study, data collection, data analysis and dissemination.

About You

Candidates should have completed a Master-level qualification in a relevant subject, including public health, epidemiology, or statistics, and have key skills and/or experience in systematic reviews, online surveys, quantitative research methods, and writing papers.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

This post is based within the Institute of Dentistry at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. The Institute was ranked first in London for dentistry in The Complete University Guide 2022, and third in the country for the quality of dental research in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). In 2014 we opened the first new dental school and hospital in the UK for 40 years, the stunning £78m Royal London Dental Hospital, giving us the most technologically advanced dental facilities in the country.

The post is based at the Institute of Dentistry in Whitechapel. It is part-time (3 days a week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months starting as soon as possible.  The starting salary will be based on Grade 4, Research (£36,572 – £44,722) pro rata per annum.
