The role

We are looking for a technician to join our School of Life and Health Sciences.

The clinical simulation technician will support the nursing and healthcare education teams and programme delivery through preparing and maintaining clinical teaching areas and equipment. Working independently, as well as with the academic team, you will ensure equipment and consumable stock levels are maintained and supervise the labs and facilities ensuring equipment and activities are safe, completing documentation as required. The role would suit someone from a healthcare assistant or clinical support worker background.

You should:

  • Have a degree or equivalent experience in a clinical or clinical simulation environment
  • Have knowledge of clinical procedures, equipment and environments and the ability to manage these for teaching purposes
  • Have the ability complete Health, Safety and procedural documentation
  • Have the ability to maintain databases, room bookings and registers
  • Have very good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Be competent in administration and in keeping accurate records (e.g. using Excel).
  • Be comfortable in using IT systems
  • Have a high level of dexterity
