The School of Health Sciences at the University of East Anglia is a vibrant academic community, with a strong commitment to world leading education, applied health research, and enterprise. At an exciting time of growth and development, we are seeking to appoint a part-time Lecturer to join our experienced and dedicated academic team on a fixed term basis.
The successful candidate will contribute to, and lead where appropriate, undergraduate education provision, curriculum development, student support and assessment, specifically in the BSc and Integrated Masters in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) programmes. We would welcome applications from colleagues with experience in the field of paediatric language and/or speech disorders. Responsibilities of the post include supporting practice education placements and assessments, and teaching and assessing on a range of modules across the programme but with a focus on paediatric language and/or speech. New SLT lecturer appointments will also be expected to serve as an in-house practice educator from our Hub when required. Where the successful candidate has a subspecialty (e.g. paediatric dysphagia, voice disorders or hearing impairment), this would be welcomed and utilised.
You will be a HCPC (or international equivalent) registered speech and language therapist and hold a good first degree (2:1 or above). You will have a repertoire of skills that extend beyond the SLT specialism and will contribute more widely to a range of School priorities and educational provision. The speech and language therapy programmes offer a curriculum designed around problem-based learning that aims to create active student learners.

The post is available immediately on a part-time (0.6fte) fixed term basis for 12 months. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
