Research Associate/Fellow (Fixed term) at University of Nottingham

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary research team to deliver two National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) School of Primary Care (SPCR) funded research projects relating to dermatology in primary care. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the two research projects about recognising and managing dermatological conditions within primary care settings. One is about blistering skin conditions, and one is about topical corticosteroid withdrawal syndrome in dermatology patients. The individual will be expected to contribute to ethics submissions and write research protocols, set up and conduct qualitative interviews, analyse interview data, and co-ordinate regular meetings with the project teams. 

Candidates must have a PhD (or be about to obtain one) in a relevant subject area (such as applied health research or health psychology) and must have some practical experience of using qualitative research methods. Key skills required include excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others. Applications are particularly welcomed from those with an applied health research, dermatology nursing, or health psychology background. 

This is a fixed-term role for 6 months. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week). There will be potential to extend the fixed term contract for a short period of time if the successful candidate is appointed on a part-time basis e.g., if working 21.75 hours a week it can be extended for an additional 3 months.
