The role

ALSPAC is a large birth cohort study that has collected comprehensive and detailed information on study children and their parents from pregnancy through to young adulthood. ALSPAC has collected data from medical records, linkage to other databases, questionnaires measures made at hands-on assessment clinics and analyses of biological samples collected over the years.

The Clinic Co-ordinator will provide effective day-to-day management for all clinic visits; G0, G1, G2 (the 3 generations within the ALSPAC cohort) in ALSPAC, particularly the @30 clinic Join our @30 clinic | Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children | University of Bristol . This will be ALSPAC’s biggest data collection yet and will involve both face-to-face and virtual clinic data collection. The Clinic Co-ordinator will be a key member of the clinic management team, and will operationally manage the fieldworker and administration teams.

What will you be doing?

The Clinic Co-ordinator will liaise with research collaborators, ALSPAC and University of Bristol personnel to ensure that the clinic operates effectively on a day-to-day basis and meets attendance and data collection requirements.  This will involve; monitoring the clinic progress against agreed milestones to ensure that the clinic meets deliverables and ensuring that all staff are appropriately trained to carry out data collection and the data is collected to a high standard. This will also involved ensuring the clinic is appropriately staffed and being involved in recruitment and interview process.

You should apply if

We are looking for a candidate with experience of project management ideally in a research environment and experience of research governance and GCP and its application in a research environment. The successful candidate should be someone who thrives when working in a dynamic team and has experience in managing people and can work with competing timeframes.

Contract type: 

Either secondment (internal candidates) or fixed term contract until 31/07/2024

Work pattern: Part-time /0.68 FTE 

Grade: I

Salary: £37,099 to £41,732 per annum pro rata

School/Unit: Bristol Medical School

Shift pattern: 24h per week, 3x 8-hour shifts, variable pattern to include occasional Saturdays/bank holidays/Sundays
