Post Summary
Trinity College Dublin and the Dublin South Central Mental Health Service seek to appoint to the Professor of Psychiatry (1968) /Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist.
The post will have its main base at the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences at St James’s Hospital and will also be accommodated within the Jonathan Swift Clinic service provided through Dublin South Central Mental Health.
The postholder will have an established record of world-class research, and a proven ability to attract research funding. The research interests of the person appointed should be complementary to activity within the Discipline of Psychiatry, the School of Medicine and the College Strategic Plan.
The Discipline of Psychiatry spans three hospital sites at St James’s Hospital, Tallaght Hospital and St Patrick’s University Hospital. Also associated are Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Learning Disability Services, Substance Abuse services (HSE) and the Central Mental Hospital.
Post status: Permanent Contract (Full time).
Hours of Post: 18.5 hours per week for academic activity including teaching and research. 18.5 hours per week to include new patient clinical assessments, outpatient clinics and community and day hospital assessments, multidisciplinary meetings and supervision of trainees.
Salary: Appointment will be made on HSE scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy
