Job Details
The ICR Genomics Facility is looking for a highly motivated Scientific Officer to join their team of wet-lab scientists and Bioinformaticians. The Facility provides NGS library preparations and sequencing for researchers within ICR and beyond. The post holder will be responsible for providing technical support for a number of NGS projects. Experience in molecular biology techniques and keen interest in learning new techniques are essential for this role. Previous experience in NGS technologies, including genomic library construction and the operation of next generation sequencing instruments would be desirable for this role.
This post is for 3 years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- BSc/MSc degree in Biomedical Science
- Appropriate laboratory experience, including PCR, qPCR, enzymatic reactions, DNA and RNA quantification.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Highly committed with a keen desire to produce high-quality scientific data.
- Willingness to learn new techniques/approaches.
