We are looking to recruit a postdoctoral Research Associate to join the group of Prof Menna Clatworthy in the Department of Medicine. The post-holder will be involved in supporting projects relating to tissue immunity, particularly with regards to projects interrogating the relationship of immune cells in the gut and central nervous system (CNS) using murine models. The successful applicant will also be required to train other lab members to use relevant in vivo experimental techniques.

The appointee will have a PhD in relevant subject (e.g. Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Genomics) with substantial experience in vivo models of gastrointestinal infection and inflammation, as well as meningeal immunity, with a home office personal licence. The successful candidate will also be expected to optimise methods to isolate immune cells from CNS tissues, and to participate in analyses of transcriptomic data (bulk and single cell) generated as part of these projects.

The appointee will be involved in several other projects in the lab, and the role has the potential for the researcher to explore their own ideas.
