An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Centre for Artificial Intelligence for Precision Medicine (CAIPM), an ambitious, collaborative and cross-disciplinary Centre combining leading scientists from the University of Oxford and King Abdulaziz University.
You will be part of the medicinal chemistry team within the CMD and report to Dr Tryfon Zarganis Tzitzikas, one of the chemistry team leaders. Your primary responsibility will be to design and synthesise novel small molecules while working closely with other scientists within the department, the University of Oxford, and an international team of collaborators including clinicians and research scientists at King Abdulaziz University. You will be responsible for managing your own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues to ensure that project deliverables are met. You will also collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal article and occasionally present papers and posters.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/ DPhil (or in completion) in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry together with demonstrable experience in small molecule synthesis and characterization. You will have ability to manage own academic research and administrative activities. You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals, results and represent the research group at meetings. Having experience working with small molecule inhibitors is desirable.
