We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to begin their independent career as a Tenure Track Fellow in the “paediatric inflammatory disease” programme of the department in Women’s and Children’s Health.

We seek applicants whose research interest lies within the area of paediatric inflammatory disease (including, but not limited to, rheumatology, immunology, infectious diseases, respiratory, renal, etc.) with a focus on molecular mechanisms of inflammation. It is anticipated that your research focus will be understanding the molecular events associated with systemic inflammation, identifying new diagnostic or prognostic methods and/or monitoring/optimising therapeutic options.

You are required to hold a PhD (or equivalent) and have sufficient experience as a postdoctoral researcher (in biology, molecular medicine, computational biology, or equivalent).

You will work closely with colleagues across Women’s and Children’s Health, the Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences, clinical colleagues in Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and national partners within the GOSH Biomedical Research Centre’s Paediatric Excellence Initiative. You will have the opportunity to work with clinical and academic colleagues nationally and globally. There will be ample opportunity to work with colleagues in other specialties and departments across the University, including the Spatial Transcriptomics Facility, the Computational Biology Facility, etc.

The full-time post is available immediately for initially 5 years with a review point after 3 years. At the end of the initial agreement, subject to successful delivery of agreed targets, the post will be made permanent at the appropriate level.
