Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to work with Prof Charlotte Summers, Director of the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart & Lung Research Institute. The post-holder will work within a programme focussed on identifying the biological mechanisms underlying critical illness, with a focus on the contribution of innate immune cells.

The successful applicant will possess a PhD in a relevant subject such as biological science, have at least two years of post-doctoral experience, and have extensive “hands-on” experience of the isolation and culture of primary human immune cells, preparing samples for genomic analysis, flow cytometry, and other standard laboratory techniques, and possess excellent communication (written and verbal), with team-working skills. Experience of CRISP/Cas9 genome editing and forward genetic screens would be of strongly favoured. Candidates must have a track record of research achievement, including peer-reviewed publications.
