This is an exciting opportunity to work and progress your academic career in a world leading multidisciplinary team on the development and evaluation of health outcome measures.
We are looking for someone with a relevant psychology, economics, psychometrics, or clinical background to work with leading researchers in the field of outcome measurement using a mixed methods approach. The roles are based in the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) Section of SCHARR in the Division of Population Health and will involve applied and methodological research funded from a variety of sources including pharmaceutical companies. This includes an exciting opportunity to work on a study to evaluate the suitability of existing patient reported outcome measures in a rare genetic condition, Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). The role will involve a variety of tasks, including conducting a systematic literature review on the psychometric performance (i.e. their reliability and validity) of existing patient reported outcome measures. This includes extracting data from identified studies, assessing study quality and interpreting results. You will also be involved in other outcomes work ranging from qualitative interviewing and conducting focus groups, designing and conducting surveys and undertaking psychometric data analysis of health outcome measures.
You will be encouraged to contribute to Masters-level teaching and supervision, and you should have a Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, for example, psychology or economics. A PhD in a related subject is desirable.
