Professor of Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Molecular Imaging at University of Glasgow

The School of Cancer Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a Professor of Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Molecular Imaging to provide, lead and deliver world-class contributions across research, teaching, innovation and clinical service.

International leading research will be focused in the area of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and be aligned with the School/College/University research strategy. You will maintain an established, internationally competitive, and externally grant funded research program, publishing high impact research papers, presenting at international meetings, and participating in review and advisory groups and panels.

In addition, you will deliver research-led education through the supervision and teaching of students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, supervise post-doctoral researchers, lead on curriculum development, and undertake appropriate administration as requested by the Head of School.

The successful candidate will be of international standing with an appropriate track-record of academic achievements in their specialist area of Positron Emission Tomography (PET), with a key focus on precision medicine, theragnostic approaches and Total Body PET.

As a clinical academic, you will also engage in clinical duties at Consultant level within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as governed by an appropriate Honorary contract and agreed job plan.

The School of Cancer Sciences (SCS) is part of the College of Medical, Veterinary, & Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow and carries out world-leading research on the molecular basis of cancer and how this can be exploited therapeutically. In partnership with the CR-UK Beatson Institute, the School has 51 research groups in state-of-the-art research buildings with technologies that underpin our key research themes, providing excellent facilities for a programme of clinical and translational cancer research in Glasgow.

Applications are invited from candidates with a basic Medical degree (MB BS or equivalent) and a Higher Qualification and hold CCT/CCST or equivalent in Nuclear Medicine.
