A man has shocked customers by throwing a box of painted rats in a UK McDonald’s as part of a pro-Palestine demonstration.
In wild footage circulating on social media, a man can be seen retrieving a box of rats – which have been painted red, green and black to match the colour of the Palestinian flag – from the boot of his car outside a McDonald’s franchise in Birmingham.
The vehicle’s number plate has been replaced by a sign that reads “PAIISTN”.
The man, who appears to be wearing a Palestinian flag on his head, is then filmed walking through the doors to the restaurant and past a group of kids before he releases the box of rats on the floor in front of shocked customers.
Two women standing in front of self-service kiosk are seen jolting out of the way as the rats scurry near the feet.
“Free f**king Palestine,” the man shouts as he leaves.
The video goes on to call for a “targeted boycott” on Starbucks, McDonald’s and Disney+
“Start by boycotting these brands that are directly involved in supporting the Israeli apartheid,” a graphic in the video reads.
Earlier this month, an Israeli McDonald’s franchise announced it would provide free food for members of the Israeli military, which was met with backlash and saw other franchises distance themselves from the move.
A McDonald’s spokesman also told the ABC News the company has donated $1 million, split between The World Food Program and the Red Cross, to support people in the region.
Meanwhile, the Walt Disney Co. announced they are donating $2 million to humanitarian relief efforts in Israel, while Starbucks said they are suing their workers union after they expressed solidarity with Palestinians on X.
The video of the demonstration was shared by the Australian Jewish Association on Twitter.
“WATCH this genius who thinks the best way to advance the cause of jihadists and antisemites is to release a box of rats at a local McDonalds franchise,” they wrote.
It comes as Israel’s ground offensive continues to advance into Gaza.
The Israeli Defence Forces said troops have engaged in a number of battles with Hamas terrorists, killing dozens, with the support of the air force.
“Overnight, troops eliminated dozens of terrorists who barricaded themselves in the buildings and tried to attack the forces that were moving in their direction,” IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said.
“We are carrying out an expanded ground operation into the Strip [and] forces are moving towards the terrorists, the terrorists are barricading themselves in staging grounds, and we are attacking them from the air.”
The IDF also rescued hostage and Israeli soldier Ori Megidish from within Gaza overnight on Monday. Three other hostages have been seen in a video clip released by Hamas.
Intelligence service Mossad beleives many of the 230 Israeli hostages still held by Hamas are captive deep underground.
