Clinical Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London

About the Role
Applications are sought for a Clinical Research Fellow in Prostate Cancer to undertake an exciting early detection project. This post will support identification of ‘missing’ prostate cancers through implementation of standard protocol- and novel technology-driven Prostate Cancer Health Checks to case find early cancers across North East London.

About You
The postholder must have a medical degree from a recognised institution, GMC registration and have completed a minimum of 2 years of core surgical training or equivalent with at least 6 months experience in urology at core trainee or specialty trainee level. Essential requirements include MRCS/FRCS or equivalent. Experience in project management, conducting outpatient clinics, data collection and statistical analysis would be advantageous. A demonstrated ability to communicate well and work within a team is also essential.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is part of the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre, and aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research. The project will be implemented across all secondary care providers within the North East London Integrated Care System, with the Mile End Early Diagnosis Centre being the key base site. The role will require actively engaging with key primary and secondary care stakeholders, community and faith groups, charities, Cancer Alliance members, and research teams at BCI, the Wolfson Institute for Population Health (WIPH), and University College London (UCL).

The post is hosted at the Charterhouse Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months with a possibility of extension subject to confirmation of funding. The starting salary will be, in the range of £40,257 – £51,017 per annum (pro-rata).
