Liverpool Hope University is a vibrant community with high scholarly standards.  We are proud of our past, confident in our present, and ambitious for our future research goals. We submitted over 96% of our Research active staff (colleagues with Significant Responsibility for Research) in thirteen Units of Assessment for REF 2021.  All 13 subject units were assessed as having aspects of their work in Internationally Excellent (3*) or World Leading (4*) categories. The opportunities available include the post of:

Lecturer in Social Science (focus on Health and Wellbeing/Health and Social Care)

As a result of rising student numbers and expanding provision The School of Social Sciences wishes to recruit a lecturer to work in Health and Wellbeing/Health and Social Care. We currently deliver a range of Undergraduate provision and we are in the process of validating an MA Health and Social Care. You will join a supportive team who work closely together.  The School is fully committed to excellence in teaching, to enhancing the student experience, and increasingly to delivering teaching especially in the final year, underpinned by research.

While we welcome interest from those with expertise in any area of health and wellbeing/ health and social care, we are particularly keen to receive applications from those who would be able to contribute to teaching in one or more of the following areas: public health; community health; health promotion; social approaches to health and well-being or integrated health and social care.  Additional experience in any related social sciences areas, or an interest in research and writing skills, would also be welcomed.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to existing provision within the School, to support future curriculum developments, and to engage with the research profile of the Health and Social Care team.

The School of Social Science runs undergraduate degree programmes in Health and Social Care, Health and Wellbeing, Social Care, Youth and Community Development, Sociology, Social Policy, SEN and Disability Studies, Childhood and Youth, and Social Work.  The School also runs Masters programmes in Social Work, Youth and Community Development, Social Policy, Sociology and Disability Studies.  The successful candidate will contribute to the new MA Health and Social Care which will be offered from October 2024.

We recruit staff nationally and internationally as we seek out the best people to help build Hope for the future. We are committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment that recognises and respects difference. If you join us, you will be doing so at an exciting and challenging time as we work to build a Liberal Arts inspired university of distinction in the UK.

For the role of Lecturer a PhD is required. When completing your application please include the title and a copy of the abstract of your doctoral dissertation.
