Are you an exceptional academic with an international profile in Veterans and Family Studies seeking an opportunity to lead academic teams, using your research to inform the delivery of exceptional teaching and support student success?

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, you will assist the Head of Department to maintain, enhance and improve the Department and Faculties national and international reputation in Veterans and Family Studies.  Demonstrating your continued academic attainment and achievement, you will contribute to your discipline and the life and work of the faculty.  

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 therefore the successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. 

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is one of five departments within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. We are a thriving community of academics and professional support staff who are committed to empowering each other and students to be the best they can be, and ultimately improve the lives of people within our local, national, and international reach. Successful candidates will be joining an incredible, innovative team.

The Department is proud to educate health and social care students from all corners of the globe in Foundation, Undergraduate and Post Graduate studies.  We have five active research groupings:

  • Veterans and military families’ hub
  • Workforce Education and Practice Development

We provide high quality, research-rich education using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods including a state-of-the-art clinical skills centre. The post holder will provide expertise to further enhance research leadership and entrepreneurial activities. This will include undertaking individual and collaborative research that demonstrates impact and involvement in external activities which will include academic enterprise. 

You must possess excellent knowledge of the subject area and have active registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant professional registration. The post holder must have doctoral qualification or equivalent.
