We are looking to appoint a Research Capacity Development and Training Manager to join a small team responsible for identifying, developing and driving initiatives to meet the Academic Career Development Strategy and objectives of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre (Oxford Health BRC) to increase research capacity. The post is full time; however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro-rata basis.

You will be based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford.

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31st March 2026 with possibility of extension until 30th November 2027).

You will proactively identify training and development needs within the NIHR Oxford Health BRC and scope, design and implement new research capacity and training programmes. You will be responsible for collating data, and information for the drafting, and updating of strategy documents and reports. You will line manage the BRC Research Capacity Development and Training Co-ordinator.

You will be educated to degree standard or equivalent with previous proven experience in project management or administration and experience as the line manager of one individual or a small team. You must demonstrate the ability to write clearly and concisely, particularly in drafting reports. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to work with individuals at all levels and establish productive collaborative relationships.
