Centre for Ageing Population Studies (CAPS)

CAPS is a research group of around 50 researchers working across a range of studies that aim to better understand age-related health conditions, and develop and test complex interventions to improve health and well-being and maintain independence for older people. This is a fixed-term role until 31/12/2023 in the first instance.

About you

We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active individual with a background in social science or pharmacy with an interest in older adults, for a position as a Research Assistant. You will work on our study exploring the role of pharmacists in primary care supporting people with dementia and their families. You will work as part of an internationally renowned team on ageing and dementia care.

The main role of the post will be to manage the day-to-day aspects of the research study; recruitment of people living with dementia, family carers, and professionals; conducting semi-structured interviews, analysing interviews using thematic analysis; organising and hosting workshops and writing up results. The successful candidate should have experience of working with people living with dementia and or carers, experience of conducting qualitative research interviews, thematic analysis, and recruiting participants to research studies.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
