Government of Canada appeals Federal Court decision in Bring Our Loved Ones Home litigation

Global Affairs Canada today issued the following statement:

“The Government of Canada has appealed a decision rendered by the Federal Court on January 20, 2023 in the Bring Our Loved Ones Home litigation. The government is appealing because in our view the Court made errors of law and fact.

“The Government is seeking to expedite the appeal and will be moving to stay the Federal Court’s judgement.

“The Government of Canada is resolute in its vigilance with regard to the safety and security of Canadians and remains committed to taking a robust approach to this issue.”
