About the Role

The Health Economics and Policy Research Unit (HEPRU) at the Centre for Evaluation and Methods, Wolfson Institute of Population Health, is looking to recruit a Health Economist to engage in research on the economic aspects of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The focus of this post will be on trial-based economic evaluation, other prospective studies and decision modelling to assess the economic value of new interventions and healthcare pathways. The post holder will support the development of projects in one or more areas including blood transfusion services, mental health or orthopedics involving supporting research proposal development; conducting health economic studies emanating from successful proposals; and broader methodological and strategic activities.

The health economist will collaborate closely with health economists, researchers and practitioners involved in the projects to deliver high-quality research and outputs.

About You

A post-graduate health economist with an ambition/ aptitude for evaluative data-driven research. Good knowledge of health economics methodology, including economic evaluation and decision analytic modelling, strong analytical skills, and effective team-working and communication skills are essential.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full-time (part could be considered), fixed term appointment for 2 years in the first instance. The starting salary will be Grade 4 or 5 (dependent on qualifications and experience) £33,619 – £47,414 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
