£48,423 (Senior Lecturer, Grade G), per annum, depending on qualifications & experience.

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
The above post is an open ended contract and is available summer 2023 on a full or part-time basis.
The post holder will be expected to collaborate intensively with colleagues in the Faculty and other partners.
About the role
This role will provide exciting opportunities to further strengthen our interdisciplinary research, education & impact-related activities in the interconnections between sport science, medicine and public health. The appointed person will be an innovative academic, who is committed to delivering the highest quality education. The post holder will support the further development and delivery of our MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine and future PGT opportunities.

About you
We are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to deliver research & education in the intersection between sport and exercise science and medicine. We are open to any disciplinary background/expertise that would build upon or complement current strengths, but would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have knowledge and experience in rehabilitation, physiotherapy / physical therapy, physical activity, biomechanics, human performance, physiology / metabolism, injury mechanisms, or injury epidemiology.
All candidates must have a PhD in sport and exercise science, sport medicine, physiotherapy / rehabilitation, or another relevant discipline, or equivalent research experience and knowledge. Candidates should have a proven record of high quality, international research publications.
Candidates must also have excellent organisational skills and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail, good verbal & written communications skills. In addition, the ability to work well within a team.
The post will include research, teaching and administrative duti4es, as appropriate for the level of appointment.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will have:
- A PhD or equivalent in sport and exercise science, sport medicine, physiotherapy / physical therapy / rehabilitation, or another relevant discipline, or equivalent research experience and knowledge and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research
- a proven record of refereed publications
- A record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding
- An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
- Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
- A commitment to engage with business and/or community partners in research and education
- Ambition to lead projects which develop impact.
For Senior Lecturer, in addition to the above, you will also have:
- A strong potential for research leadership
- A track record of refereed publications and success in grant capture
- Relationships with external organisations and funders/ and knowledge and experience of key sectors or business challenges
- Experience of providing education leadership in developing education programmes and content and in staff educational development.
