This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious academic to join the Department of Neuroscience at The University of Sheffield and make a significant contribution to Neuroscience research through the application of Systems Biology. We are seeking a non-clinical academic to join the multidisciplinary teams of researchers who are investigating the pathogenesis of neurological diseases with the goal of translating insights into new therapeutic approaches.

You will integrate into the Department of Neuroscience, which is currently one of the three constituent departments of The Medical School. The post represents an exciting opportunity to combine computational and bioinformatic approaches with programmes of high-quality research generating multi-omic data within the Department of Neuroscience. We are seeking a highly motivated person with a track record of conducting high quality systems biology research, ideally with some experience of neuroscience. You will be expected to have evidence of academic achievement, for example in the form of high-quality publications.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
