About the role

The Department of Population Health Sciences is looking to appoint a Research Associate to work collaboratively and independently as part of the The Infant Mortality and Morbidity Studies Group (TIMMS). The post will primarily provide statistical support for a range of projects, related to late preterm and early term birth, within the Leicester City Football Club (LCFC) Research Programme in Child Health. It will also support ongoing analyses for the Opti-Prem Study, an NIHR- funded study of birth at 27-31 weeks of gestation, and other projects led by the TIMMS Research Group as well as the development of new funding applications as required. You will be using your expertise to develop and implement methodologically appropriate statistical strategies and independently carry out quantitative statistical analyses of maternal, neonatal and paediatric data.

About you

You will have a PhD (or relevant MSc plus equivalent extensive research experience) in Biostatistics/Medical Statistics or an equivalent professional qualification and experience. Alongside this you will have experience of contributing to authorship of publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and proven analytical problem-solving capacity. You will have good knowledge and experience of quantitative statistical analyses of large health-related datasets. Your knowledge of data protection guidelines and good clinical practice in relation to data management and analyses will help you excel in this role.
