Aston Medical School is focused on promoting social mobility, leadership and international connectivity whilst addressing the needs of its community through its widening participation pathway, research strategy and emphasis on primary care education and healthcare leadership. 

We now offer a fixed term post (until 31st July 2025) for a 0.7 part time Lecturer in the Health Leadership programme that runs within the MBChB. Students who choose this thread graduate, will gain a PG Certificate in Health Leadership along with their MBChB. The post offers an exciting opportunity for those seeking a career within health leadership and management, and applicants may have a background in clinical medicine or a relevant academic discipline.  

Working within a supportive and dynamic multi-professional team and guided by the Health Leadership (HL) Programme Director, you will lead one of the modules, support the day-to-day management and operation of the HL programme and contribute to the teaching, assessment and curriculum development across the programme.  

There are excellent opportunities for professional development. You will be expected and supported to undertake the PG Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Higher Education provided by Aston University, and there will be opportunities for collaborative scholarship projects. 

It is essential that applicants have a passion for supporting undergraduate medical education and an enthusiasm for cross-discipline working with colleagues in the University and NHS.
