Salary: Fixed salary, £81,761 per annum pro rata inclusive of London weighting

Job Summary

General practitioners (GPs) who have gained their CCT are invited to apply for the 2 year post of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Primary Care within the multi-award winning Undergraduate Primary Care Education team, one of the UK’s largest teams of its kind with an exemplary national reputation for curricular innovation in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, within the School of Public Health of Imperial College London. Undergraduate Primary Care Education works with over 500 GPs to deliver teaching across multiple clinical placements in the MBBS programme at Imperial College London.

This is an exciting postgraduate training opportunity for those interested in developing a career in medical education, to train and develop their skills as primary care medical educators. At the end of the post, the post holder will have gained a wide range of educational experience and skills which will equip them to move on to further medical education roles.

You will work with Undergraduate Primary Care Education, community GP tutors, students and Medical School Faculty.

You will be based at the Charing Cross campus (located in Hammersmith), as a member of the Department of Primary Care and Public Health and will be expected to participate generally in the department’s activities and may take on other duties on the MBBS programme in agreement with the Director of Undergraduate Primary Care Education. You must continue to work part time as an NHS GP for the duration of the appointment.

Teaching takes place both in General Practices and at the Medical School and encompasses a broad range of innovative teaching and assessment methods. You need to have a clinical role in a practice within a reasonable commuting distance of the medical school and be prepared to teach Imperial students where possible in their practice.
