Name of primary supervisor/CDT lead:

A potential primary supervisor will be identified based on the research topic discussed during the interview stage. Questions can be directed to our Director of Doctoral Programmes, Professor Stacy Clemes.

Project detail:

Applications are invited for studentships that cover the cost of UK tuition fees. The School’s research activity is organised within three themes – Lifestyle for Health & Wellbeing, Sport, Business & Society and Sport Performance (https://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/ssehs/research/).

Applicants will be required to look at the research themes, make contact with a potential supervisor, naming them on the application form and submit a 2,000 word research proposal that outlines;

  1. a clear statement of the problem;
  2. existing literature on the problem;
  3. appropriate research methods;
  4. scope and nature of the project;
  5. problems, challenges, issues;
  6. possible conclusions.

Entry requirements:

Applicants should have achieved at least a 2:1 in their undergraduate degree in a relevant subject. A masters degree would be an advantage.

Funding information:

The studentship is for 3 years full time / 6 years part-time and provides a fee waiver for UK Doctoral Researchers, on a part time or full time basis. There is no stipend associated with this award.

Due to funding restrictions, the studentship is only open to UK Students only
