Swansea University is looking to attract emerging and exceptional talent in various exciting research areas in the UK. As part of Pillar 1 of the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Framework Programme, the call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Post-Doctoral Fellowships is now open and the UK is eligible to participate*.

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are ‘bottom-up’ individual grants to researchers to support mobility, excellent research, and training. These fellowships provide an excellent career development opportunity for postdoctoral researchers to enhance their innovative potential and facilitate knowledge transfer. We are now inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from potential applicants.

We are actively encouraging proposals in collaboration with our Strategic Partnerships.

Global collaborations and strategic partnerships – Swansea University

Individuals (both internal & external) should initially approach fellowships@swansea.ac.uk to ensure their research aligns with the Research and Innovation Strategy and the research ambitions of the Faculties.

Applicants must have approved support from fellowships@swansea.ac.uk.

Eligibility:

Researchers can be of any nationality and must be a post-doctoral researcher with a maximum of 8 years full time equivalent experience at the time of the call deadline. Mobility is a key feature of MSCA fellowships:

  • The researcher must move or have moved to an EU Member State (MS) or Associated Country (AC), to undertake their research project and training.
  • Researchers from a MS/AC undertake a period of mobility (12-24 months) in a third country and return to MS/AC for a 12-month reintegration return phase.
  • The researcher cannot have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline
  • Researchers who wish to reintegrate to Europe, must be nationals or long-term residents of MS or AC

Applicants who have already achieved research independence will not be competitive. Senior academics and innovators are not permitted to apply.
