Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellbeing

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional academic leader to lead the creation of a faculty that is intended to bring together the new School of Health & Life Sciences, which offers coursefrom 2024, with the existing Schools of Children, Young People & Families, and Sport & Wellbeing. The name of the faculty will be finalised in the coming weeks.
The role is an integral part of the academic leadership team and reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
As Dean, you will oversee the development of the Faculty in line with the University’s vision and Strategic Plan, which includes a significant investment in Health & Life Sciences, and its translation into appropriate policies and operational plans. You will represent the University externally to further enhance our reputation.
You will also be responsible for building the depth and quality of the academic disciplines across the Institute, identifying new opportunities regionally, nationally and internationally, whilst developing a high-performing team.
The ideal candidate will have highly developed leadership skills and the vision, imagination and external connections to exploit the opportunities this multidisciplinary environment offers in relation to curriculum development, innovations in learning and teaching, and research and knowledge exchange. This requires a clear strategic thinker with strong influencing skills and an outstanding track record of developing academic provision and delivering change. A Professorial title will be offered if the successful candidate meets our criteria.
