Part-time employment is possible.
Tasks:
The BfR is responsible for aspects of application safety in the approval of biocidal products and in EU active substance testing. Within its legal remit, the BfR is responsible for, among other things, the examination and evaluation of documents on toxicology, dermal absorption, exposure, classification and labelling, as well as the derivation of risk reduction measures for the products regarding the protection of non-professional users and third parties not involved in their use.
The individual tasks include:
- Scientific evaluation of application documents to assess the toxicity and dermal absorption of biocidal products and proposals for classification and labelling in accordance with the requirements of legal procedures
- Model calculations to estimate the exposure of non-professional users and uninvolved third parties to biocidal products
- Scientific contributions to the health risk assessment for application safety and preparation of assessment reports for legal procedures, including the derivation of safety instructions, measures and warnings to ensure a safe use of biocidal products when used as intended
- Participation in the further development of assessment concepts for the toxicology of biocidal products and for application safety
- Participation in the further development of exposure models for risk assessment
- Representation of the BfR in national and international expert panels
- Participation in advising the federal government on consumer health protection issues
Requirements:
- Completed University degree (master, diploma or similar university) in toxicology, medicine, chemistry, veterinary medicine, biology or a similar subject, a doctorate desired
- Very good knowledge of toxicology required
- Experience in the field of health risk assessment desired (especially Regulation (EU) 528/2012, Regulation (EC) 1272/2008)
- Knowledge of exposure estimation methods and practical experience in exposure modelling desired
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English required
- Very good computer skills, conscientious way of working, flexibility, teamwork and resilience, as well as willingness to travel on business, are required
