The School of Chemistry and Biosciences is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented individual to join the School to teach in the area of haematology, transfusion science/ clinical biochemistry. You will teach on the accredited BSc Healthcare Science and BSc Biomedical Science programmes and the part-time Healthcare Science (practitioner) Level 6 apprenticeship programme within the School.
The successful candidate should have recent experience of working in a clinical blood sciences environment and will have some experience of teaching and facilitating learning in the field of blood sciences and of supervising research projects at undergraduate level.
The role will involve development of engaging materials for distance learning for Higher Degree apprentices in our Healthcare Science practitioner programme and will include site visits to NHS hospital partners and tripartite reviews to monitor learner progress and achievement.
We are looking for a clinical professional who is innovative, committed, creative and who wishes to transition to a part time academic role. The successful candidate will be able to use available opportunities to develop themselves, their teaching and the School, contributing to research which could include developments to practice to improve service provision.
