June 1, 2022 – The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with her counterparts from the Baltic region, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Eva-Maria Liimets, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis  and Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, Latvia’s Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on June 2 in Québec City.

As close transatlantic allies and partners, the ministers will discuss opportunities to coordinate their efforts in the face of Russian aggression, including defending against disinformation and growing authoritarianism. They will also address the role of energy and food security in the current conflict.

After the meeting, counterparts will hold a joint press conference, followed by a visit to Canadian Forces Base Valcartier accompanied by the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of National Defence.
