This post, within the Institute of Infection, Veterinary, and Ecological Sciences, provides an exciting opportunity for an avian influenza expert to join a strong community of internationally-leading infection researchers leading to major contributions to improving the health of humans and animals.

Working in the Department of Infection Biology and Microbiomes, the successful candidate will develop an independent research portfolio focussed on the immunology or biology of avian influenza. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of in vivo work with avian species. They will be expected to deliver and manage teaching of avian infection, immunology and biology in Veterinary programmes.

The successful candidate will have experience of aspects of avian influenza research, biology and immunology. They will possess skills in a relevant discipline (e.g. immunology, infection biology, microbial pathogenesis), and have a track record of excellent research and teaching, collaborative working and strong collegiality.
