Lecturer in Paramedic Science

1.4 FTE roles available

Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester

The School of Health and Social Care is looking for enthusiastic Paramedics to take on a role within the academic lecturing team. The University offers an innovative Paramedic Science programme to support the growing workforce for Gloucestershire and beyond. This post also offers an exciting opportunity for you to be involved in moving the School of Health and Social Care forward with its strategic plan to deliver a sustainable health and social care workforce for Gloucestershire in collaboration with our strategic healthcare partners.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a current paramedic who is keen to develop their career in higher education. There are opportunities for full-time or fractional hours within the current academic structure.

The BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science is a growing programme which is seeking new lecturers due to student expansion. This post will be initially focused at supporting and running modules on the programme. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a drive and passion to develop paramedic practice and education as well as an eagerness to engage students with simulation.

Ideal candidates will have experience in both clinical and educational delivery, but this could be mentoring in practice. You will need to hold a relevant level 6 degree as a minimum to underpin your teaching, however higher-level qualifications would be advantageous.

As an academic you will be expected to hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Education or complete the University of Gloucestershire’s Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice once in role.

The School of Health and Social Care will be relocating from its current premises on Oxstalls Campus to the City Campus, a new development for the University that will be a focal point of Gloucester City, and a modern centre for teaching learning and community partnerships.

This post requires a DBS check and for applicants to be current on the HCPC register.
