We are seeking a part time (0.5 FTE) grade 6 prosector on the teaching pathway to join our small and dedicated team of lecturers, demonstrators and technicians.   Role: Duties will focus on assisting the prosector in the creation of prosected material to be used within our undergraduate, postgraduate, and clinical training courses. Prosections will be created predominantly from formalin embalmed tissue with some opportunity to produce specimens from Thiel tissue. Specimens can be newly created or modified from existing HARC material. You will be expected to actively engage with academic colleagues to ensure bespoke prosections are designed and produced with the learner in mind whilst ensuring efficient use of the material available. You will also be expected to actively comply with traceability standards under HTA regulations by updating and auditing HARC record keeping. The post is directly accountable to the Director and Deputy Director of HARC. Duties will vary from time to time. This role will have the option of studying for a PhD alongside the part time prosecting work. UK domestic equivalent fees will be waived with a further budget of £1,000 per year of research expenses.

Applicant: You will have extensive experience of human dissection, have created prosections in the past and you will have substantial knowledge of all regions of human anatomy. You should be conversant with Human Tissues Authority (HTA) regulatory processes. You should have a degree in Human Anatomy or a closely related subject. The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received.
