Board vacancy

We welcome applications for the position of Trustee from candidates with expertise in one of the following areas, consistent with the themes of our current plan. 

In addition to your Board responsibilities, you should also be prepared to serve as Vice-Chair of our Research Grants Committee. You should therefore be experienced in committee work, expert peer panel review and should be:

  • a research active geriatrician or gerontologist or;
  • an academic leader from a discipline relevant to understanding the mechanisms of ageing or treating age-related disease. Those with experience in mixed methods research and/or multi disciplinary projects would be particularly welcomed, as would those with a background in molecular biology.

Applications are invited from across the UK. Board and committee meetings are held quarterly (the time commitment for each is around 6 days per year). While our office base is in central London, we always conduct meetings in hybrid format. Although the role is unpaid, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
