Full-time – 35 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Research Assistant to join a new team working on metabolism in motor neuron diseases.

The opportunity:

You will contribute to the development of a programme of high-quality research investigating mechanisms underlying motor neuron disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and spinal muscular atrophy). The project will involve using mice and cell culture as models to study how cellular metabolism contributes to motor neuron degeneration in motor neuron diseases.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • You are a highly motivated individual willing to learn new skills
  • You have previous wet lab experience in neuroscience or relevant biomedical science
  • You have good communication skills
  • You are able to work independently but also as part of a team
  • You have a BSc degree in biological sciences subject area
