Join our INSPIRE foundation project developing the next generation of devices that aim to restore bladder control to people with spinal cord injuries!

About the role:

We are looking for a Research Associate to join our exciting project supported by the INSPIRE foundation. The project sits within the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath and is in collaboration with Oxford University Hospitals Trust, and the University of Bristol.

Management of the urinary bladder is one of the most critical aspects of care and quality of life in those with spinal cord injuries. This project will develop a novel method of bladder control using novel electrical stimulation waveforms and will evaluate the efficacy of these waveforms using simulations and initial clinical trials in humans.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing novel neuromodulation waveforms
  • Performing computational modelling
  • Developing instrumentation and designing experiments to validate the modelling
  • Support clinical trials of the approach in human participants

This is a hugely impactful role that has the potential to significantly improve the quality of life of those with spinal cord injury.

This role is fixed term starting as soon as possible with an end date of 31 March 2024.
