Who we’re looking for:

Plymouth Marjon University are seeking an experienced, NMC registered professional to join our ambitious team within the School of Health and Wellbeing to lead our Mental Health Nursing programmes (apprenticeship and non-apprenticeship pathways). You will have proven knowledge of the requirements for Mental Health Nursing and evidence of your own skills in practice. You will have proven experience in programme and curriculum management, education and training. Applicants must have strong team working skills, in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills. You will hold a postgraduate qualification and registration with the NMC.

What you’d be doing:

You will lead our Mental Health Nursing apprenticeship and direct programmes, operationalise the curriculum, and support the professional development of our nursing students.

Responsibilities of this post will include:

  • The day-to-day management of the programmes including, as appropriate, the supervision of professional development tutors, module leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Developing and delivering a diverse range of teaching, learning and assessment activities
  • Leading the dissemination of experience and good practice in academic quality, learning, teaching and assessment in the programmes.
  • Undertaking module leadership and engaging in the enhancement of learning, teaching and assessment practice.
  • Support and work closely with our nursing students, enabling them to thrive whilst studying at Marjon.

You’ll need to enjoy:

  • Creating great relationships and rapport with students: make the process of learning enjoyable and effective.
  • Create innovative teaching, learning and assessment materials: continue our unprecedented success in student satisfaction, supporting an inclusive environment for all
  • Clinical Practice/skills: draw on your own clinical expertise to ensure students are workplace and employer ready
  • Simulation: create memorable and immersive experiences in safe environments so that students can thrive
  • Employer driven environment: we are responsive, flexible and highly motivated towards our employers needs
  • Being part of a small, fast paced team: we work as a united interdisciplinary team
  • Working to your values: we care about how people behave as well as what they achieve.

Our current hybrid working policy means you can work from home or on campus, but you will be required to maintain strong campus links and be available on-site at least 3 days per week.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Claire Langman, Associate Dean for Nursing and Health Sciences (clangman@marjon.ac.uk).
