Summary

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Physiology to teach across a range of courses within the School of Sport, Exercise and Applied Science and within the Sport and Exercise Subject area. The successful candidate will have relevant experience in the field and be able to teach physiology and research methods at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Job Details

  • To contribute to the teaching of core undergraduate and postgraduate sport and exercise science modules within the School of Sport, Exercise and Applied Science and more broadly across the Faculty.
  • To have involvement in the teaching and development of practical sessions across all levels of study (undergraduate and postgraduate).
  • To develop and prepare learning resources/module booklets in support of teaching and learning, and to provide online resources to accompany this.
  • To act as a personal tutor to a number of individual students and to uphold the University’s tradition of student-centred, tutor-supported learning.
  • To provide academic support and supervision of student dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • To actively participate in programme level initiatives and course developments.
  • To contribute to curriculum development, policy formulation and planning for the Faculty.
  • To contribute to the research and/or knowledge transfer activities of the Faculty.
  • To engage with and strengthen the University Mission and to participate in the broader academic life of the University.
  • To undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of School or roles as nominated by the Subject Lead Sport and Exercise Science.

The Faculty of Sport, Allied Health and Performance Sciences (SAHPS) is an internationally-recognised centre with established expertise and resources in running undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the areas of sport, allied health and exercise sciences. The Faculty is committed to offering students vocationally-relevant programmes of study with the highest academic standards. It has undergone rapid expansion in recent years, with the building of new facilities to support the programmes, and the employment of expert staff in the various fields study within the Faculty.
