The Hull York Medical School is seeking to recruit three talented Lecturers (at band 7 or band 8) in Biomedicine to join the newly established Biomedical Institute for Multimorbidity Research (BIM) www.hyms.ac.uk/research/research-centres-and-groups/biomedical-institute-for-multimorbidity. BIM is an exciting and ambitious new venture, seeking to use existing strengths within Hull York Medical School to make major discoveries in the complex interactions that occur on a whole-body level in health and disease. These appointments will span three BIM research themes with track records of high-profile research outputs and substantial external funding (“Wound Healing and Respiratory” “Cardiovascular and Haemostasis” “Diabetes and Metabolism”) and will benefit from links with existing research academics, close clinical links with colleagues at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and partnerships with industry.

You will be expected to lead and contribute to the development and delivery of cutting-edge research studies, generating external research income and REF-returnable research outputs of international quality. Based on your track record of achievement, you will be expected to identify and lead applications for external funding, support commercial interactions and undertake high quality knowledge exchange. You will also be expected to deliver excellent teaching within our undergraduate Medicine and Biomedical Science and taught Masters degree programmes, as well as offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate research project supervision. In return, you will be able to join during the establishment of an ambitious and exciting new research institute, with a clear intention to deliver transformative research activity.

We will appoint a candidate who aligns to our values:
