Amy Baker (BA [Political Science], Dalhousie University, 1994; LLB, Dalhousie University, 1997; MPA, Queen’s University, 1999) joined the federal government as a management trainee in 2000. She held positions in various government departments before joining the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in 2005. At CIDA, she served as senior director of the Ethiopia and Pan Africa regional programs and chief of staff to the president and director of human rights. Following the departmental amalgamation in 2013, she became director general of health and nutrition. Amy was also the founding chief operating officer for the Queen Rania Foundation. Overseas, Amy has lived and worked in Ethiopia, Jordan and Senegal. Most recently, she was deputy head of mission in France.
