UWE Bristol is seeking an inspiring individual to join our successful and highly committed team in delivering learning to our Paramedic Science students. You will ensure the development and implementation of effective learning and a valuable experience for students.

In addition to supporting delivery of Paramedic education, there will also be opportunities for involvement in curriculum development and further contribution to the outputs of UWE as an organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paramedic, with a drive for education to get involved in the development and delivery of a progressive Paramedic Science programme.

We are open to recruiting clinical academics on a part-time basis. We are also keen to hear from those working in the critical care area of practice.

About us:

All our programmes have a substantial practice-orientation providing students with opportunities to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges through clinical practice, work-based experience, fieldwork and residential trips in the UK and abroad. Our partners offer placements or internships, set live briefs, participate in teaching and work with us on research projects and provide graduate jobs.

This practical focus is also reflected in our continuing investment in state-of-the-art facilities. We have excellent formal and informal learning spaces, outstanding laboratories, superb simulation facilities including high fidelity manikins and acute hospital wards, virtual laboratories and scenarios, a VERT suite for radiography and a simulation house. Our facilities provide excellent opportunities for the demonstration and practice of professional competencies for all students.

The College has a vibrant research culture, organised around four University Centres of Excellence, The Centre for Appearance Research, The Centre for Health and Clinical Research, The Centre for Research in Biosciences and the Science Communication Unit; and four research groups in Emergency Care, Psychological Sciences; Social Sciences; and Public Health and Wellbeing. In addition, we work with colleagues across the University in our Institute of Bio-sensing Technology and the Health Technology Hub in the University Enterprise Zone.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre. Regular bus services link the campus to the main Frenchay site, the city centre and surrounding areas, and nearby Bristol Parkway train station.
