Full-time, fixed term to March 2024.

Starting salary from £27,929 per annum (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £34,308 per annum (pro rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate join the Norwich Clinical Trials Unit, at the Norwich Medical School to conduct process evaluation and qualitative research on pilot, feasibility and effectiveness studies.
 
We are looking for a driven researcher with experience of qualitative research methods to join our team and support the delivery of process evaluation on the FluCare trial: Estimating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a complex intervention to increase care home staff influenza vaccination rates – a feasibility study. FluCare is a randomised controlled trial which aims to estimate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a complex intervention designed to increase staff flu vaccination rates in care homes for older adults. The complex intervention consists of regular in-care home staff vaccination clinics run by the supplying community pharmacy, free vaccination for all staff, theoretically underpinned information for staff, financial incentives for homes achieving vaccination rates over 70% and regular care home performance monitoring/feedback.

As a Research Associate you will work with the process evaluation team to collect analyse and interpret data, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes.

You will have a graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directly relating to this research area and previous research experience would be advantageous.

The post is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis from 28 August 2023 to March 2024 and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.  Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
