We are looking for a distinguished expert in brain cancer biology, with a proven track record of groundbreaking research to join our efforts to change cancer outcomes through research.
The opportunity:
We seek an established, senior researcher with an international reputation and proven leadership to drive strategy, direct impactful scientific programmes aligned with University of Edinburgh research strategy and manage a collaborative and highly performing research team focused on protein regulation and function in brain cancer. Their synergy with our existing research will accelerate our quest for understanding cancer’s complex nature and developing transformative therapies.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- An established, outstanding international research reputation in functional and translational genomic medicine and its application to disease, with a strong track record of publications in world-leading peer reviewed international journals.
- Ability to lead and develop an interdisciplinary research team.
- Ability to secure substantial research funding.
- Experience and capability to act as role model in the areas of research, teaching, and research management.
- Ability to lead and motivate people to manage resources and contribute to the running of a university department.
